The department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at La-Paz Medical Center offers a wide range of services that address every healthcare phase a woman experiences throughout her lifetime – from pre-reproductive care through the childbearing and post-menopausal years. Our physicians are all experienced obstetricians and gynecologists and are committed to providing the best patient care and service.
In addition to providing well woman and preventive care, our gynecologists are trained in treating conditions of the reproductive organs: vulva, vagina, cervix, ovaries, fallopian tubes and uterus. Some of these conditions may include treating abnormal pap smears, sexually transmitted diseases, or pain in the pelvis or urethra. Our medical staff provides a full-range of gynecological care, providing both non-surgical and surgical treatment options.
Our team is highly experienced in treating gynecological emergencies (ectopic pregnancy, torsion ovaries, cysts, abnormal vaginal bleeding, endometriosis and myomas), as well as managing routine health care programs for woman well being.
Our staff is trained in maternal-fetal medicine for providing the best up to date treatment and follow up for pregnant women and her baby. All the staff is capable of performing ultrasound scans and advanced examination (blood flow and Doppler studies) for the best of the mother and baby.
The team is qualified to treat pregnancy and labor complications like diabetes, hypertension, management of high risk pregnancies and births.
The team at the maternity department is highly trained for assisting the new mother treating her newborn and is pointing toward natural mother –child bonding. All women are encouraged to breastfeed with the assistance of certified nurses trained in breastfeed problems. The department is capable of full and partial “rooming-in” of the baby with his mother.
Our fertility clinic helps women and couples who are trying to conceive, and specializes in both basic treatment methods, such as Clomid cycles, male factor infertility, and artificial insemination (IUI), as well as more advanced forms of treatment.
The staff is experienced in treating patients suffering polycystic ovaries with and without major hormonal imbalance.
The clinic for Family Planning and Preventive Services is a key component of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the La-Paz Medical Center. We believe that only by improving preventive care can we as a health services provider can begin to attack the problem of undesired pregnancies. Our department provides the full range of family planning services to our diverse patient population in a nonjudgmental, caring and supportive environment. We provide education, access to contraception and counseling to prevent unplanned pregnancies.
We also work in conjunction with the Maternal-Fetal Medicine division in the management of pregnancies with diagnosed fetal anomalies or second-trimester pregnancy complications.
Preventive medicine and breast care:
The program for preventive medicine and breast care works with combination with the radiology and surgery departments and offers digital mammography examination, as well as breast surgeon examination.
Sexual health and satisfying sexual function is dependent upon a healthy body and mind. Changes in sexual health can occur at any age and are often the result of gynecologic problems. But sexual problems may also be the result of non-gynecologic illnesses or the medical and surgical procedures used to treat them.
